Cristiano Ronaldo received a pre-match boost on Friday afternoon when he was named the Barclays Player of the Month for November.
The Portuguese winger scored in the first and last league games of the month - a stunning free-kick against Portsmouth on 4 November and the opening goal against Everton last week. He also helped the Reds to beat Blackburn and Sheffield United away and hold Chelsea at Old Trafford.
It's the second time in successive months that United have won the award. Last month, Paul Scholes and Sir Alex Ferguson did the double, winning the Barclays Player and Manager of the Month respectively.
Ronaldo will receive his award on the Old Trafford pitch prior to Saturday's match against Manchester City.

Patrice Evra is United's only doubt going into Saturday's Manchester Derby at Old Trafford.
The French left-back, who was only capable of light jogging in training on Friday, was replaced by Gaby Heinze in the 3-1 win over Benfica on Wednesday night after receiving a kick on his calf.
Heinze is expected to fill in for Evra, while Sir Alex has a fully fit squad to choose from to face local rivals Manchester City in the 12:45 GMT kick-off.
“We only have one player doubtful for tomorrow and that is Patrice Evra," confirmed the Reds boss.
“He was very tender on the Thursday the after the game. He got a kick on his calf. On Friday he did some jogging, but he is a doubt for Saturday. Other than that, everyone is ready."
There was also good news on Thursday night when Ji-sung Park and Alan Smith played for the Reserves. Park has been out for around three months after undergoing an operation on damaged ankle ligaments. Sir Alex says the Korean winger is making a timely return to action.
“Ji-sung Park was excellent, 45 minutes was enough for him," said the boss. "He's a great player to have back because of his versatility and movement off the ball.
"Without question, we'll use him over the Christmas period. He gives me the option of resting our wide players – Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo – because he can play on either wing. That’s good news."
While Smith, who has been working on an intensive fitness programme in training, is making good progress in his continued rehabilitation from the broken leg and dislocated ankle he suffered in February.
“There has been a slight improvement in Alan in each of the last three weeks," confirmed Sir Alex. "His reserves peroformance against City is his best so far, but he's still a bit short.
"We'll keep on the work we’re doing, which he is enjoying. There is progress. He is now using his left foot far more than he was three weeks ago, which is good to see."

Ryan Giggs will equal the number of appearances made by Bill Foulkes against Manchester City on Saturday – but Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Sir Bobby Charlton’s all-time United record is well within the Welshman’s sights.
The 33-year-old Reds winger, who made his debut almost fifteen years ago in the old First Division against Everton, will make his 688th appearance on Saturday. Foulkes is currently the second highest appearance maker in the club's history.
“He is in great physical shape, and he doesn’t carry any weight so there is no reason why he can’t play for another two or three years," said Sir Alex.
After Saturday he will be 71 appearances behind Charlton’s mammoth total of 759 appearances – a tally Sir Alex believes Giggs is capable of reaching.
“I think it’s a realistic target, I really do," he added. "Ryan would maybe have to tailor his game in terms of where he played, like we have been doing in some games playing him in-field.
“He’s seen most people come and go, but he is still there. It’s an exceptional record actually. It’s incredible.”
Centre-half Foulkes, a survivor of the tragic Munich air crash, gave 18 years service to the Reds. He captained a depleted United team to the FA Cup final in 1958, months after the disaster. Ten years later he was part of United’s 1968 European Cup winning team.
Giggs has 18 months remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford, but the United boss is in no hurry to table a new offer.
“He has got 18 months on his contract now, why should we offer him a new deal. Keep him hungry!” joked the Reds boss.
When the time comes to discuss his future beyond his current deal, Sir Alex is likely to stick to club policy and offer the Welsh winger a one-year extension. “That is a modern approach to players over 30," he said. "There is nothing wrong with that."
