Di Vaio joins Genoa Monday 22 January, 2007--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marco Di Vaio has agreed to join Genoa after signing a two-and-a-half year contract with the Rossoblu.
The Monaco striker had confirmed in the past few weeks that he was keen on returning to Italy and had been paired with a move to Milan.
However, rumours over the weekend suggested that he had reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 side allowing him to switch to the Serie B outfit.
The player had left Valencia for Monaco just over a year ago on a loan deal, before penning a two-year contract last summer.
The former Parma and Juventus hitman scored three goals in 14 matches in the Principality this season, but was only included in the starting line-up on six occasions.
Capped 14 times by Italy, Di Vaio has also appeared for Salernitana, Bari, Lazio and Verona in the past, making his Serie A debut in 1994-95.
The 30-year-old is already in Genoa, where he will be unveiled to the Press on Monday afternoon.
The Grifoni, who signed Julio Cesar Dailey Leon from Reggina last week, are third in Serie B, one point behind Napoli and three shy of leaders Juventus.
