AL Econ Question on Banking System

In an economy, currency currently held by the public amounted $6,500Million
held by authorised institutions amounted $3,500Million

Suppose the public holds $1 currency in hands for every $50 bank deposits
banks keep $3 for every $100 bank deposits as excess reserve

The minimum reserve ratio is 20%

1)Max. possible amount of money supply is $40,800Million
2)Max. possible amount of bank deposits is $60,000Million

3)After the multiple deposit creation/contraction, the amount of reserves held by banks is $9,200Million
4)After the multiple deposit creation/contraction, the amount of cash held by the public is $1,200Million

用Monetary Base(MB)
MB = 6500m + 3500m = 10000m
MB = 0.02DD($1/per$50) + 0.23DD(Required reserve + excess reserve ratio)
10000m = 0.25DD
DD = 40000m

Cp = 40000m x 0.02 = 800m
Max. Money supply = 40000m + 800m = 40800m

Amount of reserve held: DD x reserve ratio
40800m x 23% = 9200m

其實monetary base 多數都係 mc 用o者, 唔多駛理佢真正解釋:icon101:
