11 Mar 2007 18:00 Plymouth Argyle v Watford John Terry is hopeful of being passed fit for Chelsea's FA Cup quarter-final clash with Tottenham on Sunday.
The Chelsea captain has been out of action since suffering a head injury in the Carling Cup final against Arsenal but has stepped up his return to training.
Terry has still not been given the go-ahead from the specialist to resume heading but is confident of progress being made prior to Sunday's game.
"I've seen the specialist today , I've passed all the tests and he's given me the go-ahead to join in training with no contact and no heading at the moment," Terry told Sky Sports News.
"I'm aiming towards Sunday but he is the man that makes that decision. First and foremost I need to come through the next couple of days' training unscathed and I'm just pleased to be back involved."
Terry has also been hampered by a slight ankle injury, but the problem is not serious.
"There's still a little bit of pain and I played in the final with strapping on but it's fine," he added.
"I'm doing extra work to stabilise that and am having massage treatment around the ankle as well." Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage is hopeful of being fit for the FA Cup final in May.
The Welsh firebrand is currently on the sidelines after breaking his leg in the side's loss to Watford back in January.
Savage is doing all he can to get fit and despite initial fears he could miss the rest of the season, he is hopeful of playing at the revamped Wembley on 19th May.
"When you are injured at this club you work your nuts off to get fit," explained Savage.
"It would be nice if we could get to the FA Cup final, so I could return for that one.
"The injury was quite bad - I've had a steel rod inserted with three screws and every day it's painful.
"But this injury has made me realise I want to play football for as long as possible."
Rovers need to see off Manchester City before they edge a step closer to the FA Cup final and that game can be seen live on Sky Sports 1 this Sunday.

Fergie looks to Smith
By Steve Bramley(Sky Sport) -Created on 8 Mar 2007
Sir Alex Ferguson admits Alan Smith could be the man to guide Manchester United through their current striker crisis.
With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Louis Saha both sidelined and Henrik Larsson set to return to Sweden, the United boss is faced with a selection dilemma.
But with Smith making his latest comeback from a broken leg and dislocated ankle as a late substitute in Wednesday's UEFA Champions League win over Lille, Ferguson is pinning his hopes that the former Leeds man can fill the void.
"We are asking questions about how we rotate the squad and who should play up front. Alan Smith comes into that," said Ferguson.
"As soon as we scored I knew it was effectively the end of the game, so it was a great opportunity to give Alan a share of it.
"He will be involved again at Middlesbrough on Saturday and is certainly back in the frame."
Smith made his name at Elland Road as a prolific striker, but has found goals hard to come by since his move to Old Trafford.
Last season he scored once but has failed to find the net in any of his five appearances this season. Henrik Larsson plays his last game for United, with Darren Fletcher (ankle), Louis Saha (hamstring) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (knee) out injured.
