Emirates Stadium to host pre-season tournamentArsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Emirates Stadium will host a two-day pre-season tournament this summer featuring four of Europe’s leading clubs.
The competition, which has been named the Emirates Cup, will take place on Saturday 28th July and Sunday 29th July 2007, and joining the Gunners in this exciting tournament will be newly crowned Serie A champions Inter Milan, French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Bundesliga side Hamburg SV. 參加的球隊有國米,聖日門,漢堡
Two matches will be played on each day, with the kick-off times being at 2pm and 4.15pm, with one ticket giving fans access to both matches on that particular day. The Club is also pleased to announce that Arsenal members will receive exclusive first rights on purchasing tickets for this high profile tournament.
The four participating clubs boast many high profile international players who will feature over the two days. This will of course include ex-Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira, who now plays for Inter Milan. Gunners fans will also be familiar with the players from Hamburg, following the clubs’ recent meetings in the UEFA Champions League. While ex-Rangers manager Paul Le Guen will be keen to start the new season well at PSG, following his recent appointment as manager.
The tournament kicks-off at 2pm on Saturday 28th July, with Italian Champions Inter Milan taking on Hamburg, followed at 4.15pm with Arsenal playing French side PSG. Sunday’s fixtures start at 2pm with Hamburg playing PSG, with Arsenal and Inter bringing the competition to an exciting climax, kicking-off their match at 4.15pm on Sunday afternoon. 第一日,國米vs漢堡,阿仙奴vs聖日門;第二日,漢堡vs聖日門;阿仙奴vs國米
Teams will be awarded 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and will also earn 1 point for each goal they score in the competition. The winners will be presented with the inaugural Emirates Cup trophy after the second match on Sunday 29th July.賽制同阿積士四角賽一模一樣.
Arsenal Managing Director Keith Edelman said: “We are absolutely delighted to be hosting this high profile pre-season tournament featuring four of Europe’s most famous clubs. Following our success in staging two international friendlies for the Brazil national team this season, we are proud that Emirates Stadium is able to stage an event of this magnitude.
The Emirates Cup will not only give thousands of fans an early opportunity to experience some high quality football at Emirates Stadium, but will also provide all the teams with a very competitive level of pre-season preparation ahead of the 2007/08 season.”
Day admission tickets for the Emirates Cup, which give access to both matches in a day are available for as little as £25 for adults and £15 for OAPs and children.
Arsenal members will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets, which are available to Gold Members from Wednesday 2nd May, Silver Members from Wednesday 9th May and Red Members from Tuesday 15th May.

Arsenal Football Club today announces that Spanish La Liga side Valencia will be participating in the Emirates Cup, replacing Hamburg in this exciting pre-season competition.
German side Hamburg have had to pull out of the season’s curtain raiser at Emirates Stadium due to qualification into the Intertoto Cup, which has resulted in a clash of fixtures over the same weekend.
Arsenal is delighted to welcome such a high profile replacement in Valencia, who have already qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League through their consistently strong performances in La Liga.
Valencia have been one of the leading club sides in Spanish football for a number of years and currently boast stars such as David Villa, Santiago Canizares, and of course ex-Arsenal midfielder Edu.
Valencia will directly replace Hamburg in the fixtures over the weekend, with matches now as follows:

Gunners heading to Amsterdam

Arsenal have been confirmed as one of the sides who will play in the prestigious Amsterdam Tournament this summer.
The four-team tournament played at the home of Dutch titans Ajax is one of the most high-profile of the pre-season competitions.
Manchester United won the eighth edition of the tournament last summer, but it is Arsene Wenger's Arsenal who will represent the Premiership this year.
Italian outfit Lazio and Spanish side Atletico Madrid make up the competition which will take place at the start of August.
"Ajax first plays Atletico Madrid (on 2nd August) and on Saturday (4th August) the Dutch Cup winners will encounter Arsenal in the Amsterdam ArenA," read a statement on Ajax's official website.
