Eriksson tells Man City to call
Former England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has issued Manchester City with an invitation to contact him over their managerial vacancy.
Eriksson is seeking a return to the game after taking a year out following his departure from the England post last summer.
The 59-year-old told the Manchester Evening News: "It would be an honour for me to be Manchester City's manager.
"If they indicated they're interested in me of course I would talk to them."
City sacked Stuart Pearce the day after the end of the Premiership season, and are also in the process of a £100m takeover by former Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Eriksson added: "Manchester City is an established club with great potential.
"Every time I visited the club I was struck by the passion of the fans and made to feel welcome."
Despite Eriksson's invitation, former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri remains favourite for the post if the takeover is completed.
Eriksson has been linked with several posts since his England departure, including Newcastle.
The Swede has continued to be paid by the Football Association and hinted that he would like the opportunity to coach a top English club.

DOS AÑOS DE TÍTULOS. El técnico ha llevado al Sevilla a ganar la Copa de la UEFA dos años seguidos.        

El técnico español del Sevilla, Juande Ramos, se ha convertido en el principal candidato para ocupar el banquillo del Manchester City la temporada que viene, informa hoy la BBC.

Según esta cadena, el City se concentrará en la contratación de Ramos una vez que Claudio Ranieri, su principal opción, firmó ayer su nuevo contrato con el Juventus de Turín.

El ex ministro tailandés Thaksin Shinawatra está cerca de hacerse con el control del Manchester City, lo que supondría un impulso para el eterno rival del United.

Sin embargo, la información de la BBC aclara que Juande Ramos tendría que esperar al final de la Liga española para moverse del club andaluz. El entrenador sevillista tiene aún un año de contrato con el club que preside José María del Nido.
