Makelele open to MLS move
Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele says his future is up in the air after admitting he could be tempted to follow David Beckham to MLS.
Makelele played a key part in Chelsea's Premiership successes in 2005 and 2006, but the arrival of Michael Essien and emergence of John Obi Mikel saw his grip on a regular starting berth weaken last term.
The midfield destroyer claims he could remain at Stamford Bridge for another season, but has other options open to him.
"I have not decided where I will play next season," Makelele told Telefoot.
"I could remain with Chelsea, as I am under contract for next season.
"The United States is an option. It wouldn't prevent me from playing for France, ask the coach."
Reports continue to link Makelele with a move to Paris Saint Germain, but he claims there has been no approach from the capital club.
He added: "I have not been in contact with Paris Saint Germain."
Makelele looked likely to retire from international football after last summer's World Cup, but he had a rethink and is now keen to play for Les Bleus at Euro 2008.
"If Raymond Domenech calls me up, of course I would be pleased to play Euro 2008 next summer," concluded Makelele.

Sheva vows to fight on
Andrei Shevchenko has vowed to remain with Chelsea in order to prove he can be a success in the Premiership.
The forward joined The Blues last summer in a £30million transfer from Milan, but he has been branded a flop after failing to find his best form at Stamford Bridge.
Shevchenko has been overshadowed in West London by Didier Drogba, but he claims that with a summer of rest behind him he will find his true form and forge 'the most effective partnership in the Premiership' with the Ivorian.
"I'm happy in London," Shevchenko told the News of the World. "Give me time and next season you will see the real Shevchenko.
"I like playing with Didier and believe we can be the most effective partnership in the Premiership.
"I have needed some time to acclimatise to England but, given the chance, I can show the supporters the real me.
"I knew it would be difficult to adapt to Chelsea. It's a new club, a new life and it's been a difficult season.
"But I just wish people would give me the time to acclimatise and to get used to it all - then you will see."
