迪西里世界明星隊 vs 車路士經典聯隊
ZOLA TO STAR AT BRIDGE IN DESAILLY CHARITY GAMEChelsea Football Club will be staging a star-studded match next month featuring former greats Gianfranco Zola and Dennis Wise.
The match being organised by another former great, Marcel Desailly, takes place on Tuesday 7 August, kick-off 7.30pm.
It will be between Marcel's World XI and a Chelsea Select Team from his playing days at the club (1998 - 2004).
Not only will Zola and Wise return to Stamford Bridge, but they will take on stars in the World XI like Paul Gascoigne, Laurent Blanc and Roberto Baggio.
The game is being staged to raise funds for the charity Marcel personally supports, the Laureus Foundation, and for Chelsea FC's two charity partners. These are CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading children's cancer charity, and Right To Play, a global charity who fight disease, poverty and conflict through sport around the world, including Marcel's original home country of Ghana.
Current Chelsea assistant coach Steve Clarke is pencilled in to manage the home team, while Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger has agreed to manage the Marcel team.
Tickets will be priced at £25 for adults and £12 for concessions. Season ticket holders can purchase their seat from Friday 13 July, members from Tuesday 17 July and they will be on general sale from 20 July. For full tickets details, go to Ticket News.
The game will be shown exclusively live on Chelsea TV, part of a "Magnificent 7" packages of games on the channel this summer.
Other ex Chelsea players who have pledged to play are Kevin Hitchcock, Albert Ferrer, Mario Stanic, Bernard Lambourde, Graeme Le Saux, Gustavo Poyet, Roberto Di Matteo, Mark Hughes, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Frank Leboeuf, Didier Deschamps and Brian Laudrup.
While the World XI will feature Bernard Lama, Bixente Lizarazu, Alessandro Costacurta, Mauro Tassotti, Angelo Carbone, Leonardo, Laurent Blanc, Demetrio Albertini, Paul Gascoigne, David Ginola, Christian Karembeu, Zvonimir Boban, Roberto Baggio, Youri Djorkaeff, Christophe Dugarry, Ian Wright, Dennis Bergkamp, Franco Baresi, Stefano Eranio and Stefano Nava.
Chelsea TV will be part of the Blues pre-season team, bringing you all the live coverage from the six friendly games and behind-the-scenes shots from the LA training camp.
The campaign kicks-off on 14 July in the US, when the Blues play Club America in the Disney Friendship Cup. Then the team participate in the World Series of Football Tournament, which includes clashes against Samsung Bluewings and LA Galaxy, with a certain David Beckham expected to make his debut.
Then after returning home, Chelsea will take part in friendlies away to Feyenoord, Glasgow Rangers and Brondby before the Desailly game.
Chelsea TV will be the only channel to bring you live coverage of all the pre-season games. The channel is available on Sky Digital (channel 421).
