Wenger - Rosicky might be out until next season

There is "a possibility" that Tomas Rosicky will not only miss the rest of this season but he will also sit out the European Championship as well.
Arsenal fans last saw the Czech midfielder when he left the pitch after nine minutes of the FA Cup tie with Newcastle at Emirates Stadium on January 26. Arsene Wenger later described the 27-year-old's injury as "not a serious one but a strange one". However, it has now sidelined him for over two months and could keep him out beyond the summer tournament.
“We have to consider that, unfortunately," said Wenger at his pre-match press conference.
"It is a possibility at the moment. But it's not a certainty.
"Surprisingly, Monday was the first day where he could run at a little bit higher pace than usual without any pain. But we will have to see his evolution. It's been nine weeks now with no significant evolution in his injury.”

Wenger - We have prepared for penalties

Arsène Wenger has primed his side for penalties ahead of Tuesday night's Champions League Quarter-Final second leg at Anfield and says that, should the game go to spot-kicks, it will be a battle of nerves.
The last three games between Arsenal and Liverpool have finished 1-1. If this one has the same scoreline after normal time and extra time then the tie will have to be decided in a shoot-out. Wenger has had his players working on spot-kicks but he knows the nerves on the night are usually the determining factor.
“We're prepared for penalties," he said."All the 36 players involved in the game can take one technically. But the pressure aspect is more important on the day of the game than the technical aspect.”

Man Utd given boost by Ferdinand
Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand could face Roma in Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final, despite fears he had injured his foot on Sunday.
The defender limped out of their 2-2 draw at Middlesbrough but a scan on Monday revealed nothing was broken.
Sir Alex Ferguson said Ferdinand would have a fitness test on Wednesday and if he was not fit, Gary Neville or Mikael Silvestre could deputise.
Neville has been out for 13 months and Silvestre last played in September.
"I am hoping Rio will play," said Ferguson.
"His scan was clear, that was the important thing. Therefore we are hoping we can get him fit to face Roma.
"We will report at 1100 on Wednesday, so he will have to do something at that time."
However, fellow central defender Nemanja Vidic is definitely out as he faces two or three weeks on the sidelines after falling awkwardly in the 2-0 first-leg win in Rome.
Sunday's draw with Middlesbrough leaves United only three points ahead of Chelsea, who they play at Stamford Bridge on 26 April, and six points ahead of Arsenal, who they face on Sunday
