Camo out, Orsi in for LivornoMonday 28 April, 2008
Livorno President Aldo Spinelli has sacked Coach Giancarlo Camolese and brought back Fernando Orsi.
Orsi was the first boss to lose his job in Serie A this term when he was axed back in October after a dismal start to the season.
Former Vicenza man Camolese seemed to be turning things around after a positive start to his reign, but it turned sour and the Tuscans plummeted towards the drop zone with just eight points in the second half of the campaign.
Yesterday’s 4-1 home hammering at the hands of Milan has left the Amaranto rock bottom and proved to be the final straw in the eyes of fiery chief Spinelli.
The returning Orsi has a monumental task to secure survival and will have to look for maximum points from the remaining games against Atalanta, Torino and Empoli.
Camolese has become the 14th casualty of the season and could be the last man to receive his marching orders from the trigger-happy Spinelli, who intends to sell the club in the summer.
