Juventus may well have found a buyer for outcast Christian Poulsen, as Barcelona have reportedly offered £13m.
The Danish midfielder was signed a year ago, but Coach Ciro Ferrara confirmed today that he is not in the plans for the new campaign.
“I spoke to Poulsen and made my point of view very clear,” said the tactician. “It is in any case pleasing to see someone train so diligently every day despite being in this difficult situation.”
Now according to Spanish newspaper ‘Sport,’ Barcelona have pinpointed Poulsen as the right alternative to Liverpool’s Argentine Javier Mascherano.
He turned down a proposal from Turkish outfit Fenerbahce last week, but would be far more amenable if the bid were to come from the European Champions.
Juventus could pocket the £13m and re-invest that into a striker or left-back.

In a surprise move, Lucio has terminated his contract with Bayern Munich in order to join Inter, announced the German club.
“After a trophy-laden five-year spell at Bayern, Brazil captain Lucio is leaving Munich to join Italian champions Inter Milan,” read a statement on their website.
“On Thursday, the centre-half and the FCB board of directors agreed to cancel the player’s contract ahead of its scheduled expiry on 30 June 2010.
“The 31-year-old, who will sign a three-year deal with the north Italian club coached by Jose Mourinho, moves for an undisclosed fee.”

With Maxwell almost certain to complete a €4.5 million move to Barcelona in the coming days, it seems Massimo Moratti’s Inter are wasting no time in searching for a potential replacement as they look to complete their squad before the August 8 Italian Super Cup final.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri have turned their attentions to Corinthians’ Andre Santos following his impressive display at the Confederations Cup. With the Brazilian reportedly a transfer target of Inter’s city rivals, Milan, there could potentially be a transfer derby as both clubs look to beat the other to the player’s signature.
With Santos’ value in the region of €6m, Moratti should have no problem in closing a quick deal. The move could cause a potential banana skin for commentators next season, given Inter already have the similarly named Davide Santon occupying the left-back position

Wesley Sneijder could be tempted to join Serie A outfit Inter, though he would ideally like to remain with Real Madrid.
The Dutchman's future in the Spanish capital hangs by a thread after his name appeared on los Merengues’ ‘unwanted list’ last month, along with the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Mahamadou Diarra and Rafael van der Vaart.
The 25-year-old has recently vowed to remain with los Blancos and fight for his place in the side, but Italian champions Inter are monitoring the situation and the player’s representative has hinted that Nerazzurri coach Jose Mourinho’s overtures could lead to a move.
“Sneijder is a player of great value, and the interest of Italian clubs is a source of great pride for him,” agent Soren Lerby admitted to 24oredisport.com.
