United's Van der Sar given compassionate leave

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has been given indefinite compassionate leave after his wife suffered a brain haemorrhage.
The 39-year-old's wife collapsed last Wednesday and he will not be expected to return to Manchester until she has made a recovery.
Van der Sar, who is currently out of action with a knee injury as Tomasz Kuszczak deputises, was back in Holland to receive treatment.
Sir Alex said: "Annemarie had a problem over in Holland a week ago and has been admitted to hospital. That is the best place for her to be. They have examined her twice and are trying to get to the root of it.
"I have told Edwin to stay over there. There is no point in him being here. The best thing is for him to be with his wife. Hopefully she will make a good recovery.''
Mancini targets title after back-to-back victories
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes his new side are capable of winning the Premier League title this season.
The former Inter Milan boss has enjoyed a fairytale start to life at Eastlands, beating Stoke City 2-0 and Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0.
Two goals from Carlos Tevez helped City to close the gap on current leaders Chelsea to 10 points with a win a Wolves. It was the third win on the spin after the 4-3 win over Sunderland in the last match of the Mark Hughes era.
Mancini was in bullish mood after the success against Mick McCarthy's side. He said: "Now is not the time to look at our league position. We will just play one game at a time and then we will look at the table in two months.
"Can we win the league? All is realistic. We have another 18 games to go so all is possible because we have a good team. If we stay concentrated always it is possible with the players we have.
"Also, if we don't play it (the ball) wrong and adopt a short passing game, I think we can arrive in the top four of the Premier League.''
Mancini was full of praise for striker Craig Bellamy, who caused Wolves constant problems alongside Tevez. He added: "Bellamy is a strong character, a good player. It would be better if he stayed with us. I have had difficult players but I have played for 20 years and I know very well about good players so there are no problems.''
Wolves boss McCarthy was happy with his side's overall performance. He said: "In terms of our performance, I thought the final scoreline was very harsh. I thought we played well.
"I know that sounds ridiculous when you've lost 3-0 but we played as well with the ball as we have done for a long time. In the first half we were excellent and in the second half, up until the second goal, we were giving them problems.
"But, if you had said after the Birmingham game a month ago that we would have the points we have got now (19), then we would all be happy. We weren't really expected to get points from sides in the top six and we have to pick up points against the teams we are expected to pick up points from.''
