Rooney fit, but Wes out for weeks
The good news for United ahead of Wednesday's crucial Champions League last 16 clash with AC Milan is that Wayne Rooney took part in training at Carrington on Tuesday morning, but unfortunately Wes Brown will be missing for the foreseeable future.
United's in-form front man missed Saturday's 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers after a draining week of playing two matches on an energy-sapping Wembley pitch.
The 24-year-old played over an hour of United's 2-1 Carling Cup final victory over Aston Villa, and then, much to Sir Alex's annoyance, was used for almost the whole match in England's midweek friendly win against Egypt at the national stadium.
But Rooney joined the rest of his team-mates at United's training headquarters on Tuesday, and Sir Alex later confirmed at his press conference that the forward was fit to play in the game.
"He was extremely doubtful, but he's shown a rapid improvement since Saturday morning and he's okay," revealed the boss. "Unfortunately Wes has had a career blighted by long term injuries and he's got another one. He's broken a bone in his foot and will be out for four to six weeks. I hope we can get him back for some of the season."
There were 21 players being put through their paces at the Trafford Training Centre, although Mame Biram Diouf didn't take part in the full session, Michael Carrick is suspended for Wednesday's game and Ryan Giggs did only light jogging away from the main group.
Full training squad: Van der Sar, Kuszczak; Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Rafael, Evra, Neville, De Laet; Park, Scholes, Carrick, Obertan, Gibson, Valencia, Nani, Fletcher; Rooney, Berbatov, Diouf.

老老實實佢都唔係第一年踢啦, 冇得咁賴...
佢應該學下Rosicky咁, 唔係只係左cup右cup先過到人, 雖然Rosicky既速度好似比Nasri還高
不過既然佢兩個某程度上同款既話, 學下都好
至少路斯基成日傷, 但隻重炮都冇咩點退化:icon065:
但Nasri真係除左對新加盟對曼聯同琴晚個球, 都冇咩幾何見佢食得應個波...:icon088:
當然, Arshavin都可以係禁區玩一輪再assist, Nasri梗係唔會放過玩雪糕筒既機會:icon101:
