The Sunday Mirror think Manchester United will make one final £40m bid to sign Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas despite being rebuffed by the Catalan club already this summer. Tottenham's busy transfer window looks set to continue with not only the arrival of Erik Lamela but also Vlad Chiriches from Steaua Bucharest. The deal looked to be dead a month ago after the club's incarcerated owner called off the transfer. However, it seems Daniel Levy and Franco Baldini have managed to sweet talk the Romanian club into selling.

Barcelona are going to go back in for Liverpool's Daniel Agger according to the Sunday Mirror. A £10 million bid is going to be made next week but it is expected it will take a much bigger offer to bring Liverpool to the negotiating table.

Tottenham and Roma have been in negotiations all summer about a whole raft of players but now they are set to battle it out for Bulgarian prodigy Todor Nedelev. Sky Sport Italia say Franco Baldini has been in talks with Botev Plovdiv for the playmaker but Roma are looking to hijack the reported €5 million deal.

Conflicting reports coming out of Italy to do with Spurs' proposed offer for Roma's Erik Lamela. The deal is said to be close according to the Daily Mail, with the clubs agreeing a €29 million deal but that is considerably less than the €35 million asking price. Italian papers however claim a €30 million plus add-ons deal has been agreed. I guess we'll find out when it gets concluded!

Yohan Cabaye has gone on strike in order to force through a move out of Newcastle. The Irish Independant say there is heavy interest from Arsenal and PSG and the Frenchman is keen to leave St James' Park and has told Alan Pardew he never wants to play for the Magpies again.
Emmanuel Adebayor was transfer listed by Spurs this summer and was tipped for a move to BEsiktas but the Togolese international told reporters, "I don't think I'll be going to Turkey, there are clubs who want me however, what is important is whether I want to play for them or not." He has also said he is in contact with other clubs in England.

Newcastle have sent Joe Kinnear to watch Marseille's Andre Ayew with a view to landing the Ghanaian winger before the transfer window shuts. Marseille president Vincent Labrune says Ayew will only leave if their €15 million asking price is met but the Magpies are unlikely to match that fee.
