According to Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, Manchester United are prepared to throw an excess of €150M at Real Madrid for the services of Gareth Bale.
Louis Van Gaal is thought to want add to his squad with a marquee signing – one that would take them back closer to where they want to be. Now, the Dutchman has identified Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale as that man, and according to Balague, his requests to go after the 25-year-old have been acknowledged by the board
The bad news for them though, is that Bale’s release clause is set at a staggering €1 billion and neither Carlo Ancelotti nor Real Madrid will entertain the idea of letting the player leave. As well as that, Bale appears to be finely settled in the Spanish capital, and with Real Madrid looking as good as they have for a number of years, the opportunity for trophies will likely be one he can’t walk away from.
