Alice in Chains(Grunge Rock)

“艾麗斯囚徒”曾是20世紀90年代所謂的Grunge搖滾音樂時代最成功的樂隊之一，与之齊名的還有珍珠醬、涅槃、Mother Love Bone、Screaming Trees和Soundgarden等來自西雅圖的樂隊。除珍珠醬樂隊之外，其他樂隊現在都已銷聲匿跡。

　　Grunge搖滾部分受重金屬音樂鼻祖“齊柏林飛船”和“黑色安息日”兩支樂隊的影響，風格濃重而陰郁，“艾麗斯囚徒”就是這种音樂的典型代表。該樂隊組建于1987年，和其他樂隊相比，其曲風顯得更加病態和扭曲，主要描寫了死亡和腐朽的事物。該樂隊獲得過數次格萊美音樂獎的提名。但由于斯特利吸毒成癖不能自拔，“艾麗斯囚徒”樂隊1996年年初在進行了最后的一次演出后便宣布解散。

2002年4月20日，西雅圖消防局日前在前“艾麗斯囚徒”樂隊(Alice In Chains)主唱萊恩-斯特利的家中其尸体。斯特利多年來深受毒癮的困扰，日前在西雅圖家中用一支霰彈獵槍結束了自己的生命。
