AL PA - Single Entry & Incomplete Records

if some stocks are destroyed, and we receive insurance compensation at the end of the year....shall we put that amount under REVENUE in p&l? :confused:

i suggest u to reduce the stock loss amount by the insurance received.....

and also,don't forget to correct the closing stock figure in trading acc.

i was taught (in CE) to add the insurance receivables under revenue and deduct the amount of stock loss under expeses, but AL's solution never does da same :icon062:

becoz the insurance and the fireloss are occured from the same event,
so under the principle of set-off,
they are contra items and can only record the net effect....
