EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., March 6 (Ticker) -- Jason Kidd helped the New Jersey Nets continue their dominance of the New York Knicks and remain in the hunt for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Kidd recorded his 66th career triple-double and led the decisive late run as the Nets posted with a 110-98 victory over the Knicks, who have lost 15 of the last 18 regular-season games in the series.

Kidd, who has seven triple-doubles this season, collected a season high-tying 28 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for the Nets (37-39), who won for the 10th time in 13 games to pull within one game of idle Philadelphia.

Vince Carter added 32 points for New Jersey, which saw a 27-point third-quarter lead whittled to 99-92 after New York's Jamal Crawford sank a technical free throw with 5:27 remaining. The technical was called on Kidd for standing over Jerome Williams after they collided on a screen.

But Kidd nailed a jumper as the shot clock was expiring with 4:27 to play, then sank a 3-pointer for a 104-92 lead with 3:59 remaining. Brian Scalabrine added a 3-pointer 50 seconds later for a 15-point cushion, and New York got no closer than nine points down the stretch.

New York (29-45), which will be eliminated from playoff contention with its next loss or a win by the 76ers, opened a 13-5 lead on a jumper by Crawford midway through the first quarter.

But the Nets countered with a 14-0 run to take the lead for good, pushed the advantage to 57-37 at the break and opened a 73-46 advantage when Scalabrine split a pair of free throws with 6:32 left in the third quarter.

Stephon Marburyscored 30 points and Crawford added 26 for the Knicks, who have lost a season-high eight straight games and seven in a row on the road.
