Milan: Robert deal permanent
Milan Mandaric has reiterated that Portsmouth have signed Laurent Robert permanently.
Pompey confirmed the signing of the winger for an undisclosed fee from Newcastle last week, but doubts were raised over the terms of the transfer when Magpies chairman Freddy Shepherd revealed that Robert would not face them in the two games in The Premiership next term.
Premier League rules do not allow clubs to make such demands in permanent transfers, which appeared to imply that Robert had moved on loan with a view to a permanent move.
Mandaric was quoted as saying in the Sunday papers that the move was on loan, but he has now dismissed those comments by insisting the Frenchman is a permanent member of Pompey's staff.
"Robert is signing for three years," Mandaric told Sky Sports News. "It is permanent, there is no doubt about that.
"I don't think that's the case," he said when responding to suggestions that the deal was a loan. "As I said before he has signed for three years."
Mandaric would appear to be confident of Robert facing his former club next term.
"There is some debate between them and us, he will definitely play at home at Fratton Park but we will resolve that at a later date," he added.
"We have a very good relationship with Newcastle and will resolve this in the right way."

Boro near Pogatetz deal
Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson has revealed that a deal is close to being finalised for Austrian defender Emanuel Pogatetz.
Boro boss Steve McClaren has held a long-standing interest in the full back, having been impressed with the player while with AK Graz, but was initially warned off by Bayer Leverkusen.
The Teessiders were not put off by the rebuttal and their persistence looks set to be rewarded.
"It's no secret we are close to finalising a deal for him," Gibson told the club's website. "We think he will strengthen the squad and there are still details to sort out."
Bayer are believed to be demanding €3 million for Pogatetz, a sum which is well within Boro's capabilities and a deal looks like being tied up before the players return for pre-season.
Gibson has not ruled out other raids on the transfer market, with the midfield an area he feels needs reinforcing.
"We're always looking to improve the squad and we would like to strengthen the midfield," added Gibson.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson remains keen on Lyon midfielder Mickael Essien and is considering using Saha as a makeweight in a deal worth £21 million.
Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has declared they're chasing a top class striker after being turned down by Liverpool's Milan Baros last week.
Saha has also been linked with Newcastle and former club Fulham as his future at United appears in serious doubt

France international midfielder Alou Diarra has joined Racing Lens from Liverpool on a four-year contract.
Diarra, 23, spent last season on loan at Lens, who have now taken up the option of signing him for £1.98m.
The midfielder, who last played for France in March, was signed by former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier in 2002.
The midfielder never played for Liverpool, spending a season on loan at Le Havre and Bastia before moving to Lens, where he played 34 games.
