Leverkusen midfielder Ponte sings for Urawa in Japan

SAITAMA, Japan (AFP) - Robson Ponte, a midfielder for German club Bayer Leverkusen, has signed to play for Japanese club Urawa Red Diamonds.

The 28-year-old Ponte, who has dual Brazilian and Italian nationality, arrived in Japan last Friday and has since been practicing with the team, Urawa officials said Friday.

Ponte, whose contract with Urawa runs from July 15 to January 1 next year, has played over 140 games in the German first division and scored 20 goals, including four for Leverkusen and two for Wolfsburg.

Urawa won the second division of Japan's J-League last season under the guidance of German coach Guido Buchwald. They currently lie eighth in the first division.

一直都唔差囉我覺得,當年外借禾夫斯堡已經令我意外,哩次就係意外+驚喜..:o :icon101:
