Makinwa: I Wanted Palermo Not Inter

The Nigerian striker was officially presented to the press and Rosanero fans.
Stephen Makinwa spoke for the first time as a Palermo player and explained the reasons behind his choice of moving to Sicily.

“I had the possibility to go to Inter but even though it is difficult to say no to the Nerazzurri, I chose Palermo, because I saw the appreciation of the (Palermo) President and the Sports Director.”

Makinwa will use his playing time at Palermo to win a place in the Nigerian national team ahead of the World Cup.

“For me it’s important to play during the year of the World Cup and win. The squad is strong and therefore can do very well.”
