Guti: 我唔走啦
Guti has attempted to end speculation that he is set to leave Real Madrid after rumours that Atletico Madrid were set to make a bid for him.The Spanish midfielder has also been linked with a switch to Juventus, Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham over the summer, but he has announced that he does not want to go anywhere.
"It is not true that I am moving," he said. "I am staying in Madrid and I am very happy here."
Tottenham were reported to have tabled a £5million bid for the player after travelling to the United States to meet with Madrid officials during their pre-season tour.
The Spanish giants were thought to be looking for a club to take Guti after they captured Uruguayan duo, Pablo Garcia and Carlos Diogo to add to their midfield.
But Madrid's vice-president, Emilio Butragueno, has denied that he is surplus to requirements and praised the 28-year-old.
"For us, Guti is a player with huge talent," the club's former striker explained.
