Ajax clean up Coco link
Monday 1 August, 2005--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam have confirmed they will not be signing Francesco Coco from Internazionale.
Reports over the weekend suggested that the full-back was on the verge of a move to Holland.
However, Ajax have today stated that he will not arrive given the injury problems he has encountered over the last two years.
"Coco is one of the three or four big name players who are offered to us on a daily basis," Ajax technical director Martin van Geel told De Telegraaf.
"We have made enquiries about him, but it's too risky. We have our questions over his physical level."
Coco doesn’t feature in the plans of Inter boss Roberto Mancini and the 28-year-old has been linked with numerous clubs.
The former Milan and Barcelona ace was heavily associated with Everton a few weeks ago, but a move to Liverpool no longer seems to be on the cards.
Premiership club Bolton and Greek giants Olympiakos have also been paired with the 2002 World Cup player.
