Birmingham wrap up Butt loan deal
Birmingham have signed Newcastle midfielder Nicky Butt on a season-long loan deal.
The 30-year-old former Manchester United player could sign permamently, having struggled since arriving at St James' Park last summer.
Butt will link up again with former Old Trafford team-mate Steve Bruce, who is now Birmingham manager.
Butt made 28 appearances in his time at Newcastle, with his one goal scored against Birmingham at St Andrews.

Butt In Brum Talks
NICKY Butt was today poised to join Birmingham City on loan.
The 30-year-oldwas pulled out of the Magpies squad for tonight's Intertoto Cup semi-final second leg with Deportivo La Coruna and instead headed to St. Andrew's to undergo a medical.
A statement issued today read: "Birmingham City Football Club have agreed a deal with Newcastle United for midfielder Nicky Butt on a season long loan with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season worth 2million.
"The 30-year-old will join up with former Manchester United team mate and Birmingham manager Steve Bruce in the deal that brings Nicky Butt to St. Andrew's."
England midfielder Butt, who has 39 caps for his country, has made 28 appearances for Newcastle since arriving from Manchester United in July 2004. Ironically, his only goal in a black and white shirt came against Birmingham in a 2-2 draw at St. Andrew's last season.

Butt Out
Birmingham City have acted to strengthen their midfield by signing Newcastle's Nicky Butt on loan for the coming season - with an option to buy him for 2m.
The move was confirmed on Wednesday morning by the Blues.
It's a case of second time lucky for Steve Bruce, who thought he'd captured the signing of Lee Bowyer earlier this summer, only for the United midfielder to turn down the move amid internet-based fan discontent.
Butt is expected to make his debut for Birmingham in a friendly game on Friday when they travel to Spain to face guess who? yes, Deportivo La Coruna at the Riazor - scene of Butt's final last toon appearance a week ago.
