Everton boss David Moyes has backed recent signing Phil Neville to become Everton captain in the not too distant future.
Neville joined The Toffees earlier in the month bringing to an end his 12-year association with Manchester United.
The 28-year-old moved on in a bid to secure guaranteed first-team football and made his Everton bow in the UEFA Champions League qualifier against Villarreal.
Although Everton were on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline, manager David Moyes was hugely impressed by Neville's contribution and believes he demonstrated he could take on the role of skipper at Goodison Park.
"Phil was pushing and pulling people about and is someone who can lead," Moyes stated.
"He has the capabilities of a captain.
"But for the meantime he will just want to get himself settled in here."
