FIFPro Young Player of the Year award

Martins up for FIFpro honourThursday 18 August, 2005

Inter’s Obafemi Martins is one of two Serie A players shortlisted for the FIFPro Young Player of the Year award

Martins is one of the peninsula’s most exciting players given his improvements at the San Siro over the last two years.

The other Italian based player in the list of 12 is surprisingly Juventus full-back Giorgio Chiellini.

The former Livorno player impressed at Fiorentina last term which saw him promoted to the full Italian national set-up.

The winner will be announced on September 19.
