Nancy : I want a joker

Nancy are still looking to sign a striker after their move for Mario Jardel fell through.

The Brazilian striker did not impress during his trial spell at Marcel-Picot, as he did not have enough fitness to produce a good impression.

The French side wanted to have an extended look at him in action but the veteran instead opted to return to Turkey to join Ankaraspor.

Jardel's agent Christophe Maillol offered the services of Marcio Amoroso but there was not enough time to do the deal before the close of the transfer window.

Javier Portillo was another target but the Real Madrid man joined Club Brugge on loan, while Lyon marksman Pierre-Alain Frau wanted to stay with the French champions.

ASNL chairman Jacques Rousselot says that the club will not give up their pursuit of a new striker, and will try and sign a new forward as their 'joker'.

"We will go on looking for a forward able to accept our project, and he will be our joker," said Rousselot.

Under French FA rules, clubs can sign one player after the transfer deadline to act as their 'joker'.:icon062:

每間法國球會可以係兩個轉會窗期間簽入一位(只限一位)球員
