New Real Madrid sports chief Benito Floro has declared he wants to see more players coming through the club's youth system.Asked whether he will be involved in new signings, Floro said: "At this club there is a technical manual."
"Each leader is responsible for their section. My thoughts are that the technical body is working well and will continue doing so."
"My mission will be to propose to the board those players who appear most in keeping with the development the club. I have said to the president I've the ambition that I have a group that has 50% of players from home, 30% Spanish players of good quality, and 20 or 25% foreign players."
At the moment, Real's senior squad is made up of 36% locals, 13% Spanish and 50% foreigners.:eek2:

locals = those foriegners having applied spanish passports?
though our result may not be as good, i don't mind having more spaniards... we are a spanish team in the end... (my ultimate goal is we follow the system of athletic bilbao.. dreaming..)
honestly, now cicinho is obviously better than salgado though the latter is spanish... but when foreigners (with or without spanish passports) are equal or just slight better than spaniard in same positions, we must choose spaniards. at least portillo (call him back!), soldado (> ronaldo), jurado (> zidane) are able to play our starters....
