Samp rubbish Bent rumours
:icon101:Sampdoria have rubbished reports linking them with moves for Marcus Bent and Christian Vieri.
Reports emanating from England claimed Sampdoria were lining up a shock move for Everton ace Bent in this month's transfer window.
Sampdoria are thought to be in the market for a new striker after losing Emiliano Bonazzoli to injury for the rest of the season.
Bent has been linked with a move away from Everton for the last few months, as he struggles to hold down a regular place at Goodison Park.
Vieri's future has also been the subject of intense speculation in the last few weeks after a disappointing start to his career at Milan.
However, Sampdoria general manager Beppe Marotta has rubbished the rumours and insist they have no plans to move for either Bent or Vieri.
"It's a fantasy the news about Bent, so is the same as for the rumour according to which we would be negotiating for Vieri," said Marotta.
"The truth is that we will do something to fill the gap in our team, but it won't be a sensational thing."
