Everton have dismissed claims they have tabled a £7.5million bid for Lens striker Olivier Thomert.
The 25-year-old frontman has been in excellent form this term , grabbing five goals in 17 Ligue 1 games for the French outfit.
Everton have denied Thomert is on their list of targets and dismissed claims of a club record bid tabled for the player.

Everton have made a 5 million pound bid for French striker Nicolas Anelka. This has been revealed by a source close to the club to the website www.nsno.co.uk . David Moyes has been looking for a forward having seen his side only score 14 league goals this season.
Anelka who has played for several clubs in England such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City is undoubtedly a top class striker on his day but has had several attitude problems. However with Everton lying 15th in the table David Moyes has realised that a striker of Anelka's quality could not be over-looked. Anelka could be the ideal strike partner that Everton have been looking for to partner James Beattie and get the goals to push Everton up the table.

Pandiani completes move to Espanyol
MADRID, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Uruguay striker Walter Pandiani completed a €1.5 million (£1million) move from Birmingham City to Espanyol when he was unveiled by the Primera Liga side on Friday.
Pandiani, who has signed a two and a half-year deal with the Barcelona-based club, said he was itching to make his debut.
'I'm ready to play now and I can't wait to play although I don't know when I'll get the chance,' he told a news conference.
The 29-year-old joined Birmingham for £3million from Deportivo Coruna last August after a successful loan spell at the club and scored six goals in 35 appearances for the Premier League side who are struggling against relegation.
Espanyol is Pandiani's third Spanish club after Deportivo and Real Mallorca. The former Penarol striker scored 45 goals in 119 league games for the two sides.
'I was fine in England, but returning to Spain was an interesting option,' he said. 'I weighed it up with my family and here I am,' he said.
Espanyol, who play Real Sociedad on Sunday, are in 14th place in the Primera Liga and face Cadiz in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.

Leverkusen sign striker Kiessling from Nuremberg
BERLIN, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Bayer Leverkusen have acquired Germany's under-21 international striker Stefan Kiessling from Nuremberg on a contract to mid-2010.
The clubs did not provide any financial details but German media reported a fee of five million euros.
'We're proud to have beaten a number of big name competitors to get Stefan Kiessling,' Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voeller said, referring to reports that Arsenal and Bayern Munich have also been pursuing the 21-year-old.
'I think he's one of the most talented German players. I'm certain that he'll have a great career with us.'
Leverkusen are 12th in the 18-strong Bundesliga which resumes on Jan. 27 after the winter break.

另外阿仙奴亦己簽下歐塞爾的中場迪亞比，在本週成功羅致兩位效力法甲的球員加盟。
艾迪比約屬於多哥的前鋒，他將會替多哥在非洲國家杯中上陣，故此他要在完成賽事才會替阿仙奴上陣。
艾迪比約在摩納哥的位置己受剛加盟球隊的前鋒韋利和迪華奧的威脅，故此在地位不穩的情況下，決定離開球隊。
領隊雲格表示，艾迪比約擁有球隊現時欠缺的身形優勢，他在陣將會令阿仙奴的攻勢更多變化。
