Amoroso close to Milan move
:eek2:Sao Paulo striker Amoroso could be on his way to Milan after holding talks with the Italian side, according to his agent.
Amoroso stood out when playing for the Brazilian side in their Club World Championship success in Japan.
Sao Paulo beat European champions Liverpool 1-0 in the final to be crowned world champions in December and Amoroso attracted interest from around Europe as a result.
Amoroso's agent Nivaldo Baldo says that the striker will not be training with Sao Paulo in pre-season, as he is looking to move to Milan.
Baldo says that no contract has been signed but Amoroso has held talks with Milan about moving to San Siro.
"Amoroso is not going to talk with the press in these next few days," said Baldo.
"He is paying a lot of attention to the interest that Milan has in him. For the moment there isn't anything official because we haven't signed anything.
"There have been talks and the player has even agreed his contract but nothing has been signed.
"So if he would turn up at Sao Paulo it would be like he is putting the officials under some pressure, he prefers to stay away until the transfer is confirmed or not."
With Christian Vieri leaving Milan to join Monaco, Amoroso could have a chance of replacing him, although Sao Paulo say they know nothing of the proposed transfer.
"I don't know anything about Milan," said Sao Paulo president Marcelo Portugal Gouvea.
"Only he knows if there is a club that is willing to pay up the price of the contract that he has signed with us."
