Trap back at Milan?

Giovanni Trapattoni’s career is about to come full circle with a move to Milan being reported in the Italian Press.

Trapattoni enjoyed a successful playing career with the Rossoneri, before becoming Coach at the San Siro.

He went on to become the most successful tactician to grace Serie A, winning a further six Scudetti at Juventus, a Bundesliga title and a Portuguese League title with Benfica last season.

He also coached the Italian national side at the 2002 World Cup Finals and the 2004 European Championships.

Trap moved to Stuttgart in the summer but failed to make an impact on the Bundesliga side, who managed just five wins in 20 matches, before being sacked on Friday.

Now, though, it seems that Milan are keen on welcoming their prodigal son back to the fold by putting him in charge of their youth academy.

With the Italian FA introducing new rules stipulating a minimum quota of Italian nationals in every Serie A side, the focus on rearing homegrown talent has taken on a whole new importance.

The 67-year-old has said in the past that he would like to finish his career with exactly this type of role and a return to the side where he enjoyed many glittering playing years.
