Ronaldo left out of Madrid squad
要走lu:icon101:Premiership clubs will be on red alert after Brazilian striker Ronaldo was omitted from Real Madrid's squad for Saturday's derby with Atletico Madrid.
Ronaldo, who is under contract at the club until 2008, recently hinted he may leave in the summer because he feels unloved by the fans.
The 29-year-old has been linked with both Chelsea and Arsenal in the past.
But Real coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro insisted the player had been left out of the squad for tactical reasons.
Ronaldo, who scored in Brazil's midweek 1-0 win over Russia in Moscow, has been criticised by Real fans for below-par performances.
Real's new president Fernando Martin has also stated he would not put up with players who failed to put in the required effort.
But Brazil and Real team-mate Julio Baptista believes Ronaldo is being rested for next week's Champions League tie at Arsenal.
He said: "I don't think he is being singled out for what happened during the week. He wasn't angry with the decision.
"On form he is the best striker in the world. We need to remain calm. Next Wednesday we have an important game and he will be well rested for it." 魯爾+卡斯辛奴
