兩家俱樂部(球會)同意這位25歲球員的轉會身價多達1,860萬英鎊(3,459萬美元)。
卡里克將接過前曼聯隊長基恩(堅尼)身穿的16號球衣。基恩2005年11月離開曼聯後，這一號碼空缺。
「卡里克將會參加本周末阿姆斯特丹邀請賽，在對波爾圖(波圖)或者阿賈克斯(阿積士(相關新聞 - 網站))的比賽中首次代表曼聯出賽，」曼聯在其網站發表聲明稱。
卡里克七次代表英格蘭隊出賽，但在今年的世界杯(相關新聞 - 網站)中，僅在第二輪1-0擊敗厄瓜多爾(相關新聞 - 網站)的比賽中出場。
