Chelsea 'consider' Sheva swap
http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=387327&CPID=21&clid=120&lid=8&title=Milan+pray+for+Sheva+stayMilan chief officer Adriano Galliani has again stated that the Rossoneri have no intention of selling star man Andrei Shevchenko, although the player has admitted that staying in Italy will de 'difficult'.
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon revealed on Sunday that the Premiership champions' chances of signing the Ukrainian hit-man are currently rated at 50 percent, as The Blues prepare a sensational summer coup to follow the capture of Michael Ballack.
Roman Abramovich has long been a fan of the complete striker who will grace the World Cup finals this summer, and his dream of bringing Shevchenko to Stamford Bridge looks a real possibility after the former Dynamo Kiev star revealed he was looking for a new challenge.
However Milan will fight hard to keep their prolific front-man, and Galliani has told Shevchenko that if he stays at Estadio Giuseppe Meazza then he will go down as an all-time Milan hero.
"I invite once again Sheva to stay at Milan," said Galliani.
"In the supporters' memory those players who end their career with Milan remain exceptionally.
"I invite and I pray again Sheva to stay, Milan will never sell him."
Despite Galliani's appeal, Shevchenko looks set on a move away from Serie A, and after the last game of the season against Roma the striker gave little hope that he will stay with the Rossoneri.
"Staying? It's difficult," said an emotional Shevchenko, who watched the first half amongst the Milan fans.
Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti insists the club will make the final decision over the matter, and hinted that Milan are likely to pursue high-profile targets such as Samuel Eto'o, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Thierry Henry should they lose the 2004 Ballon d'Or winner.
"Andrei is evaluating the possibility to leave, then it will be the club who will take a decision," said Ancelotti.
"It must be clear that Milan aren't obliged to sell a player for money and anyway we must find alternatives.
"Which ones? There are no big discoveries to make."
