Redknapp interested in S&M hulk Zigic

Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp will monitor the form of Serbia and Montenegro's giant striker Nikola Zigic on Saturday after being priced out of the market for Andy Johnson and warned off Henri Camara by Wigan.


Palace have accepted an £8.5million bid for England forward Johnson, while Wigan boss Paul Jewell insists Senegal striker Camara is part of his future plans and not for sale.

Redknapp is now planning to be in Belgrade at the weekend to watch Red Star's 6ft 7 ins marksman in action for his country against Uruguay in a World Cup warm'up friendly.

Redknapp wants, as a priority, four top strikers for next season in the Premiership but Zigic's price is likely to be around £7million after he was recommended through contacts of Pompey's Serbian-born chairman Milan Mandaric.

Meanwhile, Benfica are reported to have joined the race to sign Argentina midfielder Andres D'Alessandro, who was on loan for a five'month spell at Fratton Park last season and played a major role in Portsmouth's Premiership survival.

German club Wolfsburg want £4million for him on a permanent signing but Portsmouth's chief executive has accused the player's representatives of excessive financial demands.

Peter Storrie said: 'I've had loads of emails from people calling us 'scrooge' because they think we are haggling over money but they do not know the half of it.

'The money is way in excess of £30,000 a week. It is a very, very expensive set of terms.

'In any case, why is everyone focussing on Andres when Harry has so many other options in that position? Andres is just one player.'

Zigic 未睇過唔知 ,但如果佢只係一個無咩技術既高大中鋒 ,就無咩意思
