Stuttgart have signed Strasbourg's Swedish midfielder Alexander Farnerud.
The 22-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with the Bundesliga club and has left Racing after the Ligue 1 side's relegation.
Farnerud had expressed his desire to leave the Alsatians and the player now appears to have got his wish.
Reports earlier in the month suggested Stuttgart were willing to pay a fee in the region of €2.5 million (£1.7 million) for Farnerud, who has just 12 months left to run on his Strasbourg contract.
Farnerud's agent Claes Elefalk confirmed to Expressen: "All parties involved have agreed about a four-year deal.
"Alexander's personal deal is done and the clubs have come to terms. I expect everything to get settled this week.
"He will either play as an offensive midfielder or a striker - that's the two positions which suit him the best."
Farnerud's brother Pontus may also be set to quit the club after the midfielder outlined his desire to seek pastures new. 無聲無色:icon124:

The 29-year-old Poland international agreed a three-year deal at the VW Arena on Wednesday after passing a medical.
"Both clubs have agreed the deal. The player is really looking forward to his future at Wolfsburg," said sport director Klaus Fuchs.
The move to the Wolves will give Krzynowek the chance to shine after a difficult season at Leverkusen that saw him mainly emerge off the substitutes' bench.

Former France international Micoud, 32, is set to rejoin his former club after expressing his desire to leave Germany in order to end his career in his homeland.
Les Girondins chairman Jean-Louis Triaud told RMC: "Yes, we are in negotiations with Johan and I am quite optimistic."
A spokesman from Bordeaux also told Sud-Ouest: "The Werder Bremen midfielder will pen a two-year contract with the club he used to play for in the next few days."
Micoud, who played for Les Girondins between 1996 and 2000, will be the club's first close season signing and it is hoped he will help the team do well during their Champions League campaign next year.
Meanwhile, striker Jean-Claude Darcheville is set to decide where his future lies on Friday. The player is thought to be keen to sign a one-year extension with the Ligue 1 runners-up, but has also been linked with a move away from France. Schalke have completed the signing of Rangers forward Peter Lovenkrands.
The 26-year-old was out of contract at Ibrox and has now opted for a move to The Bundesliga.
The Danish international has penned a three-year deal with the Gelsenkirchen club, ending his six-year stint with The Light Blues.
"Schalke are a very large and good club," Lovenkrands told the German club's website. "I want to win titles."
Lovenkrands, who opened talks with Schalke last week, admitted he was helped into making his decision by compatriots Soren Larsen and Christian Poulsen - who are already at the club.
