Coach happy with Van Persie

Holland coach Marco van Basten has revealed he has been impressed with the form of striker Robin van Persie in training.

The 22-year-old was late in arriving at the Dutch's training camp because of Arsenal's involvement in the UEFA Champions League final but has shone in front of the watching coaching staff.

Van Basten is set to stick with his trusted side for the friendly with Cameroon on Saturday but will give his entire squad the chance to push for inclusion in his starting line-up in their other two friendlies.

"Robin is in form and showed that this week," Van Basten confirmed.

"We are clear about the majority of our team but we always are ready to make some adjustments if necessary."

Holland have been drawn in Group C in Germany and will open their campaign on June 11 against Serbia Montenegro.

They will also face the Ivory Coast and Argentina as they bid to qualify for the second round from a tough group.
