LIVERPOOL have made a ￡3.5million bid for Birmingham forward JermainePennant.
Boss Rafa Benitez is desperate to bring in a winger this summer.
He expects to get a work permit for Chile winger Mark Gonzalez after red
tape blocked the deal last year.

Former Arsenal and England Under-21 star Pennant, 23, fits the bill after

Speculation in Tuesday's newspapers claimed The Reds had offered £3.5 million for the former Arsenal winger, but Birmingham have again insisted that the player is going nowhere.
Following Blues' relegation to The Championship, many believed the likes of Emile Heskey and Pennant would leave St Andrews in the summer, but Pennant is thought to be keen to help the club regain their top-flight status.

"Managing director Karren Brady has spoken to her counterpart Ricky Parry at Liverpool and informed him that Jermaine Pennant is not for saleJermaine Pennant is not for sale.
"Reacting to today's stories, Brady wants to reassure supporters that the club is determined to keep hold of its best players to give us the best chance of returning to the Premiership at the first attempt."
Brady added: "We want to get out of this division as soon as possible.
