"I wanted to get more from the Nuggets," Jacobsen told the newspaper. "If they didn't offer more, they didn't want me as much as I thought. I live with my decision." :icon102:

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Clifford Robinson will play again for the New Jersey Nets.
The troubled forward, suspended during last season's playoffs for violating the NBA's drug policy, has reached an agreement with the Nets and passed his physical, team president Rod Thorn said Friday.
Robinson, a key backup for Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins, turns 40 in December. It was Robinson's second suspension in two seasons, but Thorn expressed confidence in the 17-year veteran.
"Cliff played very well for us, number one. Number two, he's very popular with his teammates. Number three, he's a leader in the clubhouse," Thorn said. "I think he felt sort of an obligation toward us, since it ended on a sour note last year."
Robinson's age did not appear to be a concern.
"He played around 20 minutes a game last year. But it depends how he plays and how other people play," Thorn said. "He had a lot left in the tank last year, so we'll see."
Robinson said he still can contribute to the team, which did not disclose terms of the deal.
"It's not going to be my 18th year for nothing," he said. "It was the best scenario to come back and play with the Nets. We had good chemistry."
Robinson was suspended for five games during the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Miami Heat. The series was tied 1-1 at the time, and the Nets lost the next three games to the eventual champions. He averaged 6.9 points and 3.3 rebounds last season.
Without discussing specifics about the cause of his suspension, Robinson said he has taken steps to prevent a recurrence. He was suspended for five games in February 2005 while playing for Golden State. Players are suspended for five games for a third positive test for marijuana.
"I could have made better choices. I could have sought out someone to talk with, and I didn't do that," he said.
Robinson became a free agent in June when the Nets declined to exercise a $2.5 million option on his existing contract. That gave the two sides a chance to arrange a new deal.
Robinson had 23 double-doubles last season, twice scoring 20-plus points. His career average is 14.6 points and 4.6 rebounds with five different teams.

Scratch one more name off the NBA's ever-shrinking list of quality free agents: Drew Gooden.
Gooden's representative, Calvin Andrews, told ESPN.com on Monday that his client has agreed to terms with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a three-year contract worth about $23 million.
Re-signing Gooden was the Cavs' other main priority this offseason, after securing LeBron James' signature on a contract extension last month. The lack of further free-agent activity in Cleveland isn't surprising after its spending spree last summer to re-sign Zydrunas Ilgauskas and bring in Larry Hughes, Donyell Marshall and Damon Jones.
"It was a long negotiation, but ultimately Danny Ferry was very fair and professional throughout the process," Andrews said of the Cavaliers' general manager. "At the end of the day, Drew is very excited to re-sign with what he feels is a team on the cusp of a championship. He feels he has found a home with the Cavaliers."
Gooden originally sought a deal in the same range as the six-year, $60 million pact Nene received from the Denver Nuggets, or the six-year, $57 million contract Al Harrington is expected to net from the Indiana Pacers in a sign-and-trade with the Atlanta Hawks. But Gooden and Seattle SuperSonics forward Chris Wilcox -- another restricted free agent likely to sign a three-year deal worth $20-to-$25 million -- found their options limited.
The few teams with salary-cap space either targeted other players or aren't spending their money, and teams interested in offering their mid-level exception to Gooden or Wilcox -- contracts starting at $5.3 million -- feared the Cavs and Sonics would simply match those offers.
Gooden, who averaged 10.7 points and 8.4 rebounds in his fourth pro season, also could have elected to sign a one-year deal worth $5.3 million, enabling him to become an unrestricted free agent next summer. But Gooden opted for the added security of a three-year deal, setting up Cleveland to bring back the group that surged in the second half of last season to finish 50-32 and stretch Detroit to seven games in the second round of the East playoffs.
From here, with a payroll fast approaching luxury-tax territory, Cleveland will likely have to construct trades to make major personnel alterations, as the Cavs rush to establish themselves as unquestioned championship contenders before James has the right to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2010.
In the short term, though, Ferry is counting on the continuity of a largely unchanged roster, improved health for Hughes and the natural progression of James and the emerging Anderson Varejao to build on the successes of the spring. James turns just 22 in December.
With Gooden returning to Cleveland, Wilcox believed to be staying in Seattle and Harrington still likely to wind up in Indiana, Sacramento's Bonzi Wells and Denver's Reggie Evans are considered the biggest names left on the free-agent market.

Knicks Made Offer For Webber

Bergen Record - League sources have told Steve Adamek of the Bergen Record, the 76ers have approached the Knicks about a trade for Chris Webber, but weren't satisfied with Isiah Thomas' offer.
Quentin Richardson, who has $33.8 million over four seasons left on his contract and Maurice Taylor,whose $9.75 million contract expires after this season, were the starting points of the Knicks' offer.
Because of Webber's hefty salary, the Knicks would have to send additional pieces to Philadelphia.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indiana Pacers finally completed a sign-and-trade deal with the Atlanta Hawks for forward Al Harrington on Tuesday.
The Pacers acquired Harrington and center John Edwards in exchange for a 2007 first-round pick. Harrington spent the first six years of his career with the Pacers before spending the last two in Atlanta.
