Clarence Seedorf is starting his fifth season at Milan with a new number on his back, joining great champions like Rui Costa that have worn number ten. Clarence affirmed his love for Milan’s red and black jersey, saying: ‘Milan is in my blood. I have never spent so much time with the same team. Here I always have many reasons to be stimulated each and every year.’ Clarence is disappointed about not being called up for the World Cup, but he knows that now his first objective is to do well with Milan: ‘I like to think about what I have and what I can do. If we have only the league then we will focus on winning the Italian league title.’ Seedorf isn’t worried about the penalty, actually he believes that it could be an extra push to do well. He feels the fans’ support, he feels that this team is strong and he is proud of the victory that his Italian team-mates have brought home: ‘They have done a great thing for Italian football.’ Clarence’s experience tells him that there is no need to worry about not having Shevchenko around, because everyone will work even harder in attack and someone else will score more, someone like him. Number ten is working its magic or maybe it’s the wisdom of experience, because Seedorf seems to be better than ever.
