Sporting Lisbon have unveiled defender Marco Caneira on an amazing five-year loan deal from Valencia.
The Portugal international spent the tail end of last season on loan at Sporting and had been keen to secure a permanent move to Lisbon.
He has been awarded the next best thing, with Valencia agreeing to loan him out on the condition that they can recall him at the end of each season should they so choose.
Caneira is happy with the deal and is looking forward to an exciting season, both domestically and in Europe.
"I am pleased because at Sporting I have more opportunities to play, which is the most important thing," he explained.
"And also in this campaign is the attractive prospect of playing in the UEFA Champions League."
