Make Rival Bourne Film With Paul Greengrass?
That'll show Universal, right?

Universal’s decision to make another Bourne film without original star Matt Damon doesn’t appear to have the actor’s blessing.

As we reportedly previously, Damon’s lead character Jason Bourne has been written out of a fourth instalment – entitled The Bourne Legacy – in favour of “a whole new hero, a whole new chapter” according to writer/director Tony Gilroy.

Despite reports that Universal decided on this new direction because Damon wasn’t interested in reprising his Bourne role in the near future, the usually affable actor seems put out that the franchise is moving on without him.

"I read online [that] they are doing another Jason Bourne movie with Tony Gilroy (writer of the existing Bourne trilogy) directing that I'm not in,” he reportedly told Empire (via Get The Big Picture).

“No one told me, literally nobody called me. People think I have inside information, but you can get a sense of where I am in the pecking order.”

So what’s he to do? Make his own rival Bourne film of course!

He added: "I'd do it again with Paul [Greengrass] (who directed Damon in the last two Bourne films, as well as Green Zone.)  

“Universal doesn't actually own the Bourne character - the estate does - so technically I could go to Warner Bros... and Universal could read about it online."

We’re thinking Universal probably do own the rights – but it’s a fun, if a little childish, idea!

《諜影重重》原著作者羅伯特‧魯德魯姆（Robert Ludlum）生前只寫了3部「伯恩小說」，《伯恩的遺產》（The Bourne Legacy）是作家Eric Van Lustbader在2004年續寫的。所以環球公司決定電影版只借用這個名字，故事將是全部原創的。傑森‧伯恩不會出現在這部影片中，但他活得好好的。原來三部影片裡所發生的故事正是這一集故事的導火索，而這部影片也將為日後伯恩的回歸留下後路。

The search is over... and now the chase begins!

Universal is ready to commence with the fourth installment of the "Bourne" franchise now that -- at long last -- Matt Damon's successor has been chosen. And it is Jeremy Renner who will soon be on the run with "The Bourne Legacy," according to Deadline.

Almost every young (or at least young-ish) actor in Hollywood has been rumored to be in the running (pun intended, you betcha) to star in the new "Bourne" adventure, and Universal has certainly taken its time in making its decision. Renner was one of the many actors that had been mentioned to be up for the role before, and now the Oscar-nominated star of "The Hurt Locker" and "The Town" has officially received his orders.

"The Bourne Legacy," which will be directed by Tony Gilroy, will feature Renner as an operative from other covert government organization, this one even more sinister than the Treadstone brainwashing program that hatched Jason Bourne.

Jeremy Renner is right on the verge of becoming quite the movie star in the next year or so, as he'll be appearing in both "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" and the Marvel superhero team-up extravaganza, "The Avengers" (as Hawkeye), even before "The Bourne Legacy" opens on Aug. 3, 2012.

比我想像可能更差.........

The science fiction angle that comes up is insulting to what the last three films were, not to mention the fact that the direction here lacks the kinetic energy that Paul Greengrass brought to the last two movies of the s
eries.

Jeremy Renner is a talented actor with serious range and complexity. However, the character he plays is not much of a character and the script that he has to work with is riddled with cliché after cliché.

The character of Aaron Cross is a cartoon character compared to Jason and that is the main problem of the script for this movie.

單係漏出來動作場面，節奏剪接動機已經差綠草坡十皮。

睇呢集唯一動機係如果綠草坡同 Matt Damon 回歸，都需要睇呢集駁番故仔。
第一集同當年比係好，但節奏係有問題的。二三集就真係神作，應該係史上間諜／動作片都有一席位，你睇大量動作片要扮 Bourne 風格就知。
Matt Damon 自己都係奧斯卡級編劇 (呢個形容比 layman 睇的)，有佢隔一隔個劇本唔會差得去邊的。
