香港代表隊在亞洲盃外圍賽作客烏茲別克的賽事以2:2逼和主隊，各得一分。而同組的卡塔爾則作客以4:1擊敗孟加拉，繼續排在榜首位置。
上半場烏茲別克佔有較多攻勢並兩次攻破香港隊大門，港隊半場落後0:2。下半場香港隊傾力反撲，多次組織具威脅攻勢，並由沈國強在早段追成1:2較接近記錄，及後港隊繼續施壓，終在下半場35分鐘憑沈國強個人梅開二度追成2:2平手完場。而教練黎新祥在賽後表示滿意球隊演出。
香港隊與烏茲別克同得4分，香港隊將會在下輪比賽在主場再次面對烏茲別克。

TASHKENT – A brace from substitute Sham Kwok-keung saw Hong Kong come from behind to salvage a point against an Uzbekistan side that had taken a two-goal lead 35 minutes into their AFC Asian Cup 2007 Group F qualifier in Tashkent on Wednesday.
