Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 12000 to 紅燈山球場 ( Neon Light Stadium ). Sterntaler had chosen a strategic 3-5-1 formation. The following players took the field: Dolan - Key Cheng, Buliga, Graboń - Dorula, Wai Lun, Yun, Tzui, Hoan - Eijkenaar.
Hong started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Chung Ho - Hatton, Visti, Wei Qian - Pollard, Aidar, Alexandersson, Chang Yau, Jun Hoi - Jonasson, Kumar.
Hong took the lead in the game's 7th minute, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Adityakesava Kumar was the scorer. As Jan Dorula had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Sterntaler player a red card without batting an eye. Sterntaler seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to poor. After 26 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Adityakesava Kumar who increased Hong's lead to 0 - 2. Sterntaler had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to poor. In the 38th minute, Hong put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Adityakesava Kumar. That made three goals for Adityakesava Kumar and he was marked down for the hat trick. The away team's Adityakesava Kumar took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right in the 41st minute increasing Hong's lead to 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, Hong decided to play a more defensive game at this point. Tache Buliga was able to knock home a free kick in the 43rd minute to make the score 1 - 4. Sterntaler seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a wretched level of organization. 1 - 4 was the halftime score. Hong held the ball, with a clear 73 percent of possession.

Things were deteriorating for the away team as Y.O.T. scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Qiu Jeong Hyun after 38 minutes.
