The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 12000 had shown up at Y.O.T. Arena for the match. Y.O.T. decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Solans - Chiung Sheng, Gottstedt, Draper - Calvo, Sander, Matero, Litschi, Ferrer - Jeong Hyun, Loddo.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Chows. The following players had been chosen: Yiu Bong - Bustillo, Kuvaldin, Sung-Man - Danovskis, Paturaud, Begley, Shi-Kai - Jan Ee, Subay, Muscalu.
Y.O.T. mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Y.O.T. took the lead in the 11th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as Walter Loddo elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. After 35 minutes, Chows's Jacques Paturaud fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. Y.O.T. put in a good effort on the right, but Qiu Jeong Hyun saw his volley fly wide of the mark in the 37th minute. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Y.O.T. scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for Qiu Jeong Hyun after 38 minutes. Chows's Gao Shi-Kai was shown a yellow card after 41 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Y.O.T.'s Knut Litschi swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Y.O.T.'s Walter Loddo had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle in the 43rd minute. Zhu Kok Chuan was the replacement. In the game's 45th minute, Chows replied and reduced the lead to 2 - 1. Sergey Kuvaldin scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. Halftime score was 2 - 1. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Y.O.T., with an impressive 64 percent possession of the ball.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Chows's Ojārs Danovskis somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Tang Jan Ee, who struck for 2 - 2. Some great play up the middle by Y.O.T. led to a chance for Mou Chiung Sheng to get the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the crossbar. Chows's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing Sergey Kuvaldin to score easily from the right flank for 2 - 3. Y.O.T.'s Qiu Jeong Hyun was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick freekick in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute, Chows's Sander Subay received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The home crowd cheered when, in the 79th minute, Jacques Paturaud's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. After 81 minutes of play, Mou Chiung Sheng evened things up for Y.O.T. with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 3 - 3. Y.O.T. could have put themselves ahead in the 82nd minute but Zhu Kok Chuan missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Y.O.T., bringing their ball possession to 62 percent, dominated the battle.
Not having decided a winner at the end of regulation, the match went into extra time. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Chows's Tao Sung-Man got himself booked. Jacques Paturaud was suffering from cramps and had difficulty keeping up as the opposition pushed forward. Knut Litschi had no problems getting through and hit home the 4 - 3 goal. Game over, Y.O.T. wins! Qiu Jeong Hyun performed admirably for Y.O.T.. However, Mou Chiung Sheng made a disastrous appearance. Chows's top performer was clearly Gao Shi-Kai. On the other hand, Jacques Paturaud's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 3.
