Le joueur, qui n'est pas contre, a affirmé vouloir conserver le salaire qu'il perçoit en Espagne. Par ailleurs, le club anglais vient de se séparer de Scott Parker. L'international anglais a accepté les termes d'un contrat avec West Ham. Le montant du transfert est d'environ 13 millions d'euros.

Un temps pressenti du côté de Marseille ,l'international francais devrais rejoindre la Premier League et le club de Newcastle qui s'est montré intéressé par l'ancien Monégasque. De plus, Marseille n'aurait pas pu s'aligner sur les prétentions salariales du joueur.

Celestine Babayaro is being tipped to become the next Newcastle player to be shown the door by Sam Allardyce.
The new Magpies boss has already allowed Scott Parker and Titus Bramble to leave the club and it appears as though Nigerian star Babayaro could be the next to exit.
The former Chelsea man was signed by Graeme Souness back in 2005 and has made 47 first-team appearances, but has never really established himself as expected at St James' due to a string of injuries.
Babayaro was linked with a departure last season under Glenn Roeder, but reports claim the 28-year-old will join Allardyce's exodus over the coming weeks.
If as expected the Nigerian defender does move on, that could enable the Magpies to make a free transfer swoop for Bolton's Tal Ben Haim.

Sam closes in on Rozenhal
With outside attention focused on their pursuit of Tal Ben Haim, Newcastle United are close to signing Czech centre-back David Rozenhal as Sam Allardyce aims to complete a defensive double deal by the end of the week.
Rozenhal's French club, Paris-Saint Germain, have revealed that discussions with Newcastle are at an advanced stage following the agreement of a fee of around £2.5m.
The 25-year-old Czech Republic international is keen on a move to England and, with wages not thought to be a problem, Rozenhal is likely to be Allardyce's next signing following the capture of Mark Viduka last week and the imminent arrival of Joey Barton from Manchester City.
"The deal is close to being completed," said a source close to PSG sporting director Alain Roche last night. "There has been contact between the clubs and a fee between three and four million euros has been agreed.
"It is not quite there but there aren't any problems expected from PSG and we already know that Rozenhal would be very happy with a move to the Premiership with Newcastle United."
Newcastle's manager has not confirmed in public that he is aiming to sign Rozenhal, instead indicating that Ben Haim was his main defensive priority last week. But The Journal understands the capture of Rozenhal does not mean the Magpies have lost out to Chelsea in the battle to sign Ben Haim on a Bosman-style free transfer from Allardyce's former club Bolton Wanderers.
The Israel international has also attracted interest from the deposed Premiership champions and had been close to moving to Stamford Bridge in January before Allardyce blocked the transfer. At that stage, Allardyce had no idea he would be Newcastle's next manager, but he is confident he has persuaded the tough-tackling defender to turn his back on Chelsea for a second time because he will be guaranteed more first-team football at St James's Park.
The Magpies have also been linked with a move for Manchester United's England international Wes Brown in the last few days, although Allardyce does not believe he will be able to get the versatile defender.
Brown, who has just 12 months left on his contract at Old Trafford, has been pondering a move to Newcastle since the start of the year when former Newcastle manager Glenn Roeder made a bid for the 27-year-old during the January transfer window.
Roeder's bid, though, was rejected by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Allardyce, while an admirer of a player who can play at centre-back and right-back, feels he will still be reluctant to sell six months later.
Meanwhile, Nolberto Solano will re-launch his international career with Peru next season after coach Julio Cesar Uribe insisted he would be part of his plans for the start of 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Solano, who has retired from international football twice in the past, has been highly critical of the Peru Football Association and the national coach and will not be part of the national squad for the Copa America tournament.
But, at 32, the United wide man is likely to be brought back in to help his country's chances of qualifying the World Cup in South America in three years time.
Uribe had initially reacted angrily to Solano's jibes about his failure to include him in his plans, but with the player - the most popular in the country's history - back in South America, it seems they have resolved their differences.
Uribe said: "I'm going to talk with him next week. It is the right moment to do it and give him some peace. Solano's determination to be in the squad is remarkable. I'm going to call him for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, as I've already decided the 22-man list ahead of the Copa America."

Allardyce 'flabbergasted' by Barton delay
Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce has hit out at Manchester City over the cash wrangle which is delaying his capture of midfielder Joey Barton.
The 24-year-old agreed his £5.5million move to St James' Park last week, but a row over a £300,000 pay-off to which he was contractually entitled if he was sold without asking for a transfer has prevented the deal going through.
Barton's agent Willie McKay has referred the matter to the Professional Footballers' Association with City adamant that they will not pay because he was not forced out of the club.
Allardyce is being forced to play a waiting game, but has urged the Eastlands hierarchy to resolve the issue.
He told the Manchester Evening News: 'They are out of order. This is a private matter, a confidential issue that should not have been made public. I'm flabbergasted and want the situation resolved.
'I am just trying as Newcastle manager to secure a player of this kind and quality and the deal has been held up.
'I cannot understand it because City didn't pay anything for this player as he came through the youth system and are selling him for over £5million.
'It's not really for me to comment. All I know is that this is a matter for Joey to sort out and I hope it is resolved as it has stopped him putting pen to paper.'
Barton travelled to Tyneside last week to discuss his proposed move after both the Magpies and West Ham agreed a fee with City.
He was so impressed with what he heard and saw after meeting Allardyce, chairman Freddy Shepherd and prospective new owner Mike Ashley that he decided within hours to head for Newcastle without even talking to the Hammers.
However, although everything else is agreed, the outstanding payment, although unlikely to scupper the deal, has held things up.
Indeed, striker Mark Viduka, who met Newcastle officials in London a few days later, tied up his move within hours.
Barton was suspended by City at the end of last season following a training ground incident involving team-mate Ousmane Dabo which left his future in doubt.
However, Allardyce is confident he can harness the player to get the best out of him on the field.
He said: 'I found Joey a very bright person who wants to develop his game.
'He is very positive, well-spoken and focused and wants to win silverware with Newcastle and develop his international career.'
