Sevilla are reportedly ready to raid relegated North East duo Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
The Spanish giants' sporting director Ramon Gonzalez Monchi is working on the club's targets for the summer.
And two names near the top of their wanted list are Newcastle's Fabricio Coloccini and Afonso Alves of Middlesbrough.
Both high-profile signings have flopped in the North East and following relegation, neither are likely to stay with the pair near the top of their respective sides' wage structure.
Coloccini arrived on Tyneside for just over £10million from Deportivo La Coruna last summer, whilst Alves was a club record signing for Middlesbrough when they paid Heerenveen more than £12million in January 2008.
Sevilla, who are third in La Liga with one match remaining, already have a strong South American presence in their squad and they would have no qualms about introducing another Argentine or Brazilian international.
Reports claim they will make approaches for both players in the coming weeks, after getting positive reactions from the representatives.
Both Newcastle and Boro are expected to make big losses on both players, with neither player expected to report back to the North East for pre-season training in the summer.
Coach Manolo Jimenez, has given the green light to Monchi to make moves for Coloccini and Alves, has had his contract extended.
Jimenez, who took charge from Juande Ramos in 2007, has had his deal extended to the end of next season.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has given gaffer Alan Shearer a four-point plan which the 38-year-old ex-player must put into play if the club are to be given any money for rebuilding.
1. Sell at least 12 players to raise ￡30m in transfer income with the biggest assets including Oba Martins, Fabricio Coloccini and Sebastien Bassong first out of the door.
2. Halve the wage bill - cutting from its current crippling level of ￡74m, the fifth-highest in the Premier League, with 15 stars on more than ￡50,000 a week.
3. Save ￡ 10m a year by getting rid out-of-contract stars Michael Owen and Mark Viduka.
4. Axe up to 100 club employees as income plunges by an estimated ￡50m next season.
Alan Shearer is yet to respond to these demands, but is expected to comply and take charge of club affairs from as early as the 1st of next month.
