車路士聯賽杯互射十二碼不敵查爾頓，領隊摩連奴指查爾頓勝出實屬幸運。
侯夫是唯一一個射失十二碼的球員，今仗也是車路士今季首仗落敗的比賽。
「我們打了一場不錯的比賽，也值得取勝，我對戰果感到失望。」摩連奴表示。
「我沒有任何投訴，查爾頓很努力，希望得到運氣眷顧，最後他們也得到了。」
「我在比賽完結後即對侯夫說，明天又是新的一天，星期六又是另一場比賽。不過他也應該嘗試找出自己射失的原因。」
「兩日前我們曾練習射十二碼，他是射得最好的一個，我對他絕對有信心。」
查爾頓領隊古比士利則指，部分球員不希望擔當十二碼劊子手：「白賴仁曉士主動希望主射，不過有一些球員表現慌張，不過結果令人滿意。」
「我們實在不希望戰至加時，我知道車路士也是一樣。希望下一圈會抽得好籤，今仗取得勝仗，但我情願用它與一場聯賽主場勝仗交換。」
第四圈抽籤將於周六進行。

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was disappointed with his side's early exit from the Carling Cup.
The holders succumbed to a 5-4 penalty shoot-out defeat against Charlton Athletic after being held to a 1-1 extra time draw at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho was pleased with the way his side approached the third round tie, but felt luck was not on their side on Wednesday evening.
"I'm disappointed, very disappointed, it's obvious," Mourinho said after the match. "I think sometimes big teams lose cup ties.
"On commitment, on attitude, we didn't lose on that. We faced the game properly, we played a proper game, everyone did his best.
"We tried to win, we deserved to win but we lost. I have no complaints, I am just sad.
"I give credit to them (Charlton), they fought a lot, they were lucky but I've no complaints, especially against my players.
"I think they were lucky because we were the only team with chances to win 90 minutes and we dominated extra time.
"They came with their best team. They fought a lot and were lucky during the 120 minutes and on penalties, I believe they were also prepared.
"They were confident and took it well, so I give them credit."
Robert Huth was the unfortunate player to miss the decisive penalty for Chelsea but Mourinho was surprised that it was the big German defender that missed his spot kick.
"I said to him that tomorrow is another day and Saturday in another game, he has to look forward," Mourinho added.
"But he has to think why he missed a penalty because we practiced penalties for the two days and he was the best penalty taker.
"He was the only one I thought 100 percent sure he would score.
"Maybe he has to take another penalty in the future and must be ready for that."
Mourinho stated his justification in making changes to his side for the cup tie.
"If I don't make changes in the Carling Cup, when can I make them?" he said.
"If I don't trust my players to play in a Carling Cup game, when do I trust them?
"It's my choice and I gave players that responsibility and to be fair, all of them tried their best, I have no complaints."
