This example (apple) I pick up from one book called something like (Incorrect pronunciation committed by hk ppl'). (Sorry, I don't have stat for how often hkppl pronoun incorrectly.) Of course, if a hkppl say 'apple' with the first one to another hkppl, the hkppl still can understand it easily since we get used to it already.
